Well, we did go to California for Succos and it was great. We stayed by Aunt Shirley and Uncle Fritz/Yehudal in Valley Village. Our old buddy Bruce was a great tour guide and took us to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theater, Hollywood and Vine, Griffith Park, The Hollywood Bowl, NBC studios, the Holocaust Memorial in I forgot the name of the cemetary, and a drive through the hills, among other things. He also took the adults to a live taping of a new sitcom - It's All Relative - which was really cool. We saw the Thanksgiving episode - watch it and hear our laughs! We got autographs and everything - very cool.

Cousin Chaneshi treated us all to a day at LegoLand outside of San Diego which was thouroughly enjoyed by our legomaniacal children, especially when it involved mommy getting wet and being forced to ride not one, but two rollercoasters. Tati's a wuss - don't tell him I said so. He's really good at carrying the stuff and meeting us on the other side, though.

A day at Boomers, an amusement park rented out by Chai Lifeline for the day, was also a big treat, thanks to the Mimme and the Feter, with racecars and bumper boats and laser tag. On another day, Knotts Berry Farm was enjoyed by the boys on a trip with the local shul, while the girls and Tati went window shopping on Rodeo Drive. We did not buy windows or anything else, but did go around the corner to Beverly Drive for a fun on sale only shopping spree.

A ride through the canyon up to malibu was delightful, with a quick romp on the beach and wave catching in the Pacific, followed by a rush back to the valley so L'via andChaneshi could catch Jay Leno live was really awesome. Since it was L'via's birthday, the warm-up guy gave her a special treat of a cup insulator - oooh, aaahhhh - and made a big deal. Jay, on the other hand, could not care less. We did get to see Gilbert Godfried's dressing room on the backstage tour given by a family friend who works for Jay and got us the tickets. Really cool. Well, not really, but sort of.

The weather was awesome - actually kind of hot - but not too uncomfortable. The kids got to swim a few times on chol hamoed in the heated pool in their backyard. Jacuzzi and all.

Aunt Shirley is a wonderful gourmet cook so the food looked and tasted beautiful.

Now, we're back to the hectic life - school, work, preparations for the Bar Mitzvah, etc.

If you'll be in Israel on Dec 19, please join us at the kotel and later for breakfast - see the invitation somewhere on this blog.

As for the Bar Mitzvah itself, the boys will be leining their parsha on Feb 21 in our shul in Teaneck, along with lots of other exciting plans. Stay tuned.

When I figure out how to post pictures on here, I will!
